Editorial Standards

We ask buyers to act on what is written here, so it is fair to show how it is produced.

Who writes it

The guides are written and maintained by the people who run the matching service, working from drawings, quotes and supplier conversations in this niche. They are published under the organisation rather than under an invented author profile.

Where numbers come from

• Tolerance, finish and lead time ranges are presented as typical ranges for this kind of work, never as a promise. The shop that quotes you confirms what it holds on your geometry.
• Standards are cited to the body that publishes them, not paraphrased from a third party blog.
• Market and investment figures are attributed to the publication that reported them, with a link.
• Where a number would be a guess, we say the range is case by case rather than invent one.

What we will not publish

• Client counts, network size or years of experience that we cannot evidence.
• Testimonials, case studies or logos that did not happen.
• Certifications. We hold none, and a matching service holding a quality certification would prove nothing about the shop that makes your part.
• The names of partner shops, in either direction. Buyers do not get a shop list to shortcut around us, and shops do not get their customer list published.
• Content written to fill a keyword rather than to answer something a person with a drawing actually asks.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us at and we will fix it and mark the page as updated. Technical guidance ages, particularly anything about what local supply can and cannot do, so a page that has not been reviewed in a year should be read with that in mind.

Commercial interest, stated

This site exists to receive RFQs, and shops pay us for matched requests. That is the bias to keep in mind while reading. It is also why the guides are written to be useful to a buyer who never contacts us: a guide that only works as a sales pitch would not survive the first engineer who reads it carefully.

We link out to standards bodies and to reporting that we relied on. We do not sell links, we do not accept paid guest posts and we do not link to other machining suppliers or marketplaces, because a recommendation we were not asked for is not a recommendation.
